Claire Murray, Emma Airley, Lorraine McLure and Kirsty Carmichael all graduated with BSc Honours Degrees in Podiatry from Glasgow Caledonian University, following 4 years of intensive study in Podiatric Medicine, Surgery, Pathophysiology and Pharmacology, and clinical training at Scotland’s largest specialist acute Podiatry clinical teaching unit, at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
Claire, Emma and Lorraine all worked in acute NHS Podiatry settings before moving into private practice, are experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of a full range of lower limb and foot pathologies, and are specialists in Nail Surgery and High-Risk Diabetic, Vascular and Rheumatological foot disorders.
Kirsty joined us in January 2019 after 6 years in private practice over in Australia following her graduation from GCU. She brings back particular experience and skill in the diagnosis and treatment of biomechanical disorders and lower limb sports injuries. She uses a range of techniques including manipulation/mobilisation, dry needling and kinesiology taping for biomechanical and soft tissue injuries. She'll soon be offering IASTM (instrument assisted soft tissue mobilisation) treatments and bespoke orthotic prescriptions. Kirsty also practises the very effective dry needling treatment of stubborn verrucas.
The GFC team were first in the city to make affordable, skilled footcare available for everyone in an accessible high street location. Since opening in 2010 they have been committed to providing their patients with exceptional care in a warm and friendly atmosphere, and they’re proud that the business has grown entirely through word-of-mouth recommendations.
Whether you’re coming for a simple nail cut, or have more complex issues, Claire, Emma, Lorraine and Kirsty have the skills and experience to put you at ease, make your feet feel brand new and greatly improve your quality of life! Thousands of patients have already been through the doors of the clinic – they look forward to welcoming you too.
